This is MY experiance Redhat linux (9.0) on a nc6000

I got most of this from other sources on the 'net
I will list those sources at the end. The sources were for other
laptops/systems with similar hardware.
As of 022004 there is no one source for any linux on the nc6000 save this

NOTE: First things first. RedHat(RH)9.0 went on without much hastle at all. Most everthing worked with generic drivers. The ethernet didn't tho.
To get that up quickly, visit Broadcom's download page and get your driver.
I'm dual booting. So I downloaded it to the windows side and burned a cd with it. There is a linux FS mounter for Win2k/XP but I don't
trust it for mounting read/write. You could also use a Wireless card, my Cisco aironet 350 worked straight away. Or even a PCMCIA ethercard.
